Angel Saying Obvious Things

By Berna Wang

An angel came and told me:

“You’re falling asleep on your feet but you cannot sleep.”

The night feels fresh—it smells of dark trees

(the moon has not risen yet).

“It’s cold but, wrapped up in the blanket,

you feel your own body’s warmth,”

the angel said.

“Nothing goes well,

but everything is OK.

Everything is OK.”
